Electroencephalogram-Based User Authentication System for Bank Vault Security

Security systems are one of the major concerns of security bank vaults. Bank vaults require a reliable and highly secure authentication system. Providing a biometric-driven authentication for safety vaults eliminates the possibility for a robber to forcefully demand access to the vault. Brainwaves are one of the most reliable biometrics of a person since it is unique and inherent to a person. This work develops an electroencephalogram-based authentication system for a bank vault that would extract the brainwaves from the user. The system was evaluated using cognitive tasks such as selective attention, reaction to stimuli, long-term memory, sustained attention and divided attention using frequency domain analysis. Results show through the cognitive task analysis that the vault is able to remain locked for almost 98% of the time. Moreover, the accuracy of the system is 90.08% when the task for long-term memory is applied in best-case scenario.
