Design of Hydroponic Planting Media Based on Solar Cell Power

Hydroponics is one way of growing crops using water media which is currently very popular with most urban communities, due to the decreasing number of agricultural land with planting media in the form of soil. So that hydroponics is one of the most effective ways to grow crops to get maximum results at a relatively low cost because it can be done on limited land, and without using soil media. Hydroponic plants use water media by adjusting the volume of water, pH, and plant nutrients. In this study, researchers will design hydroponic growing media automatically powered by solar cells. Solar cells are used as an energy source to regulate the supply of water, water pH, nutrients, and other additional elements needed by hydroponic plants. So that it can save on the use of electrical energy, it will be controlled automatically which is programmed into the Arduino, and the readings on the system are displayed on the LCD as a monitoring system. Another important role for the use of solar cell power in the tool is as driving energy for the automatic system in the design of the tool. So that later with the design of the system, it can provide convenience to hydroponic plant owners in terms of energy sources, maintenance, and plant monitoring, and can provide maximum yields and quality.
