Novel Technology for CO2 Capture Using Green Solvents

A new green solvent for CO2 separation from a flue gas is studied. For this work, the chosen deep eutectic solvent is made by choline chloride with monoethanolamine (1:8 molar ratio) and compared to the classic 30% MEA aqueous solution. A description for the new solvent's preparation., CO2 absorption capacity and a software simulation using DWSIM for DES integration. The last point of this study is the economical assessment, where the new solvent has a double price than 30% MEA, but the economy made by less corrosiveness of installation brings a huge advantage to it.
