The Recent Advances In IoT Based Smart Plant Irrigation Systems: A Brief Review

Oftentimes persons forget to water their plants throughout their daily duties, making it a difficult chore to keep their plants healthy and strong. To overcome these issues and promote plant development, an automatic watering system can be an optimum choice. Irrigation is a conventional technique that employs a greater percentage of workers in the agricultural industry on a daily basis. Sensors and microcontrollers would be used to detect once the crops have to be watered periodically. Automation entails increasing manufacturing speed, lowering costs, and making better use of resources. The basic purpose of these systems is to create a programmable module that can automatically water the plants and provide the information on agriculture. In this paper, several irrigation systems were analyzed with respect to their benefits and demerits that have direct relation with the type of microcontrollers and the sensors, which impacts the cost and design complexity.
