An Empirical Research on the Effect of SPOC-based Blended Learning Mode in College English Curriculum

Blended learning is a combination of face-to-face learning and online learning in a way that the one complements the other. In view of the defects of traditional college English curriculum, the author's university carried out a SPOC-based blended learning mode reform with the aim to improve college English learning outcome as well as promote learner autonomy. Through a whole academic year's research, it is indicated that SPOC-based blended learning mode indeed exerted a significant effect on learning outcome and meanwhile facilitated the development of students' autonomous learning ability.
