Integrated Simulation of AC Contactor Based on Resonant Pole Inverter

In order to optimize the collision-speed and extend the service life of AC contactors and their control devices, this paper proposes a soft-switching control method of AC contactor electromagnets based on resonant pole inverters. This paper introduces the structural principles of AC contactors and resonant pole inverters, then analyzes the working principles of the soft-switching inverter. A simulation model in the soft-switching circuit of the resonant pole inverter is built on the Matlab. A direct-acting AC contactor electromagnet model is built on the ANSYS Maxwell. Through the co-simulation of two platforms, the results show the resonant pole inverter can realize soft-switching, optimize the collision-speed of contactor contacts and suppress the bounce of contactor contact effectively. The soft-switching control method which this paper researched has a certain meaning for prolonging the service life of switching devices and AC contactors.
