MCard/FS: a file manager for memory cards

A general-purpose file management system designed specifically for memory cards is described. The file system provides a standardized data handling technique to support a wide variety of biomedical applications. Any type of file may be used. System overhead is minimal, and the file structure is independent of microprocessor, word width and implementation language.<>
