Abstract:

Usability evaluation focuses on how well the user performs learn and use products to achieve their goals, as well how satisfied users are with the processes that exist in a product to achieve their goals. KRL Access is a transport application made by PT. Kereta Commuter Indonesia which provide information about train positions and train schedule to commuter line train users. The purpose of this study is to evaluate the user interface on the KRL Access application to improve user experience using usability evaluation methods as well provide recommendations for user interface design and user measurement results experience as a solution for the results of the tests that have been done. This research using a qualitative method by involving users of the KRL Access application or commuter line train users as the population. This qualitative research using the techniques of Usability Inspection method, which they are Heuristic Evaluation and Cognitive Walkthrough and the technique of the Usability Testing method that researcher use is Performance Measurement. There are 3 usability parameters tested in this study, they are Effectiveness, Efficiency, and Satisfaction. Based on the results of the tests carried out, It was found that the mean value of the 10 heuristic principle are dominated by number 3 and 4, this number indicates that KRL Access needs to hold user interface improvements. The results of the comparison of UT1 and UT2 in the study shown there is an increase in each usability parameter, they are effectiveness (10%), efficiency (22.39%) and satisfaction (28.50%).
