A Review on Quantitative Adulteration Detection in Milk

Food fraud survive since trade of food has been initiated in human life. Around the globe one of the major concern is wholesome milk product and it is being consumed. Milk adulteration leads to deterioration of dairy products. Since milk is the major consumed liquid from new born baby to the adults, it is more vulnerable for adulteration to gain extra profit and to increase the quantity. Qualitative and quantitative analysis on adulteration identification is carried out by some of the common spectroscopic combined chemo metric tool analysis procedure. Those techniques were able to achieve good efficiency, but still there is a time delay in delivering the results. Now to overcome those traditional flaws a portable, on-field, real time monitoring, low cost device should be developed for the quantification of adulteration identification in milk and its products. This review work discuss few lab based spectroscopic techniques for the quantification of milk adulteration quantification.
