MUD Over MIMO-OFDM System in UWA Communication in the frequency region 100 Hz to 100 kHz

Multi user detection (MUD) at the receiver of multiple input multiple output orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (MIMO-OFDM) system in an underwater acoustic (UWA) communication is needed to suppress the effect of multi-access interference (MAI) which limits the capacity and quality of system. In this research, MUD is achieved in the frequency region 100 Hz to 100 kHz in an underwater environment using a weighted linear parallel interference cancellation (LPIC) scheme. Weighted LPIC scheme estimate and eliminate the MAI with sea state noise due to wind generated wave which is dominant in the frequency region 100 Hz to 100 kHz from individual subcarriers. By MATLAB simulation, the proposed scheme outperforms in bit error rate (BER) performance over conventional LPIC and matched filter (MF) detector for wind speed at 3.32 m/sec and 5.92 m/sec with noise frequency component at 2000 Hz and 5000 Hz.
