Analyses of Cascaded Switchable SIW Resonators and Its Application in RF Switch for Millimeter Wave Communication Systems

Analyses of cascaded switchable SIW resonators and its application in RF switch for millimeter wave communication systems are presented in this paper. The proposed design is targeted for 5G mmWave in 26 GHz band. Mathematical analyses of the cascaded switchable SIW resonators are discussed in this paper for the bandstop and allpass responses, where these responses were used in RF switch for isolation (due to bandstop) and insertion loss (due to allpass) performances. As a result, the simulation showed that the cascaded switchable SIW resonators produced a wide bandwidth of isolation and insertion loss. The isolation was higher than 30 dB and the insertion loss was lower than 3 dB from 24.25 to 27.5 GHz in the RF switch circuit.
