Centenary of Institute of Education and Science in Power Engineering, Electronics and Electromechanics NTU “KhPI”

The prerequisites and peculiarities of the establishment of the Electrical Engineering Faculty at Kharkov Technological Institute are considered. The main stages of the faculty's development, its contribution to the development of electrical engineering higher education and its great importance for the development of the country's industry are marked. Information is given about the modern structure of the institute of power engineering, electronics and electromechanics, the educational-scientific levels and directions of students' training, the characteristics of the contingent of students and the teaching staff. There is information about close links with leading enterprises, institutions and higher educational institutions of Ukraine and many countries of the world, which allow providing training of highly qualified specialists answering the modern challenges and adapted to the real conditions of further professional activity. There are presented the results of scientific-research work of the departmental staff, which have become a significant contribution to the development of science in the field of electrical engineering, electrical machines and devices, electrical stations, electricity transmission and distribution, automation of energy systems, automated electromechanical systems, industrial and biomedical electronics, electrical insulation and cable engineering.
