Study of SSPs Waves Frequency Spectrum in Atomically-Thin Films: Case of Electron-Electron Interaction

In this paper, the authors studied the phenomenon of electron-electron interaction (Coulomb correlations) and its affect on surface plasmon-polariton (SPP) frequency spectrum. Established that perceiving atomically-thin film as electron gas contained in a potential well with additional consideration of this interaction influence on a chemical potential in dielectric permittivity function leads to a significant improvement of the obtained results compared to our previous studies and classical approaches. Also, computer modeling of dispersion relation as a function of a film thickness showed that this dependence has a distinct oscillation pattern.
