Digital conversion of an analog cardiac mapping approach

A digital system is described which retains the capacity and immediacy of the analog approach while embracing the substantial increase in signal-to-noise available in digital recording. The digital system configuration is discussed in terms of the layout of its analog antecedent. This digital analog of analog mapping is accomplished through the use of dedicated hardware, in an approach which avoids the time constraints that a single CPU would experience executing analysis and data storage. However, such a hardware-based design does not incur the loss of software flexibility, since these hardware devices run under software control via a set of operator-chosen parameters.<>
