Terahertz Topological Waveguide: A Potential Platform for Future Integrated Devices

We experimentally demonstrate a robust topological terahertz planar air-channel waveguide using a simple and innovative low-cost stereolithography 3D printing. Our mechanically reconfigurable waveguide chip supports a wider relative topological bandgap (over 1.6 times) with respect to the only other reported THz topological waveguide, which was based on a silicon-channel. Our work provides a significant step toward THz topological waveguides becoming the physical platform for the next generation of broadband short-range THz wireless communications.
