Integrated LC-Components for Electrical Systems and Devices

The technical disadvantages of electrical systems and devices include the large mass and large dimensions of its constituent electromagnetic elements. The usual way to eliminate these technical disadvantages is the frequency increasing. In this paper, the authors consider a different effective way to reduce weight and size. This way is the functional integration of electromagnetic elements (EME) in the converter and power electronics. The integrated EMEs perform several functions, such as transformation, stabilization, filtration, protection, etc. The performed analysis of hybrid EME confirms the feasibility and efficiency of their application in various electrical converters. The paper proposes a classification of electrical devices based on integrated LC-component. An example of useful applications of integrated LC-component is induction heating devices sold to the oil and gas industry.
