Identification of Friction Force Model of a Pneumatic Cylinder

As well known, the sliding friction is always presented in the contact between the piston and cylinder. Therefore, identifying this friction model is necessary. This paper performs the identification of the friction model of a pneumatic cylinder through establishing a virtual environment which has the same characteristic as the real one but the accuracy is ensured and the cost of facility as well as time is substantially diminished. This result contributes appreciably for systems used pneumatic cylinder as a transmission or elastic element.
