The influencing factors of contact resistance of busbar connectors

The temperature of the busbar connectors is mainly affected by its contact resistance, while the contact resistance of the busbar connector was affected by massive factors. In this paper, the influencing factors of contact resistance of busbar connectors are introduced, and the factors are divided into the environment factors and the material factors. The effects of the factors such as temperature, humidity, contact area, tightening torque, fretting wear, type of the metal, plating, contact aid compound are analysed in detail. The methods of decreasing the contact resistance are summed up finally. It turns out that the main methods, which can decrease the contact resistance, include using qualified electric joint compounds, increasing contact area by increasing the tightening torque properly and slowing down the rate of the material oxidation by attaching the plating.
