VLSI Implementation of Turbo Product Code

Turbo product code (TPC) is a special type of parallel concatenation of convolution codes. The length of convolution code can be altered using TPC. They can be used as forward error correcting (FEC) codes. TPC using BCH codes are used for error correcting. In this paper we implement TPC encoder and decoder using BCH code. We also study and analyze the performance of TPC implemented using Hamming code and compare it with that of implementation of TPC using BCH codes. In this implementation, two or more component block codes can be used to construct TPCs. These block codes are mainly systematic linear block codes.
