D2D Communication Relay Selection Strategy Based on Two-hop Social Relationship

Relay-assisted D2D communication can expand the communication range and improve the spectrum efficiency. However, most relay selection algorithms only consider single-hop information between transmitter and relay. To obtain better communication quality, we propose an Improved Relay Selection Strategy based on the Two-hop Social Relationship which not only considers the social relationship of transmitter-to-relay, but also the social relationship of relay-to-receiver. Besides, we combine the social awareness and channel state information to define the social relationship. The strategy determines the candidate relays according to the maximum D2D communication distance firstly, and then selects the optimal relay among candidate ones based on Two-hop Social Relationship (THSR). The simulation results show that the proposed algorithm can significantly improve the system throughput.
