A Study on Design of Adaptive Assistant Devices for the Sit-To-Stand

A person's ability from sitting to standing is crucial for independent living. Especially for people with reduced mobility, Sit-to-Stand (STS) transitions are exceptionally difficult. In this paper, we propose novel solutions for home care of the disabled, build a model based on adaptive principle with monocular vision and design an assisting device. Some simulations were made to verify the correctness of the model. The simulation results show that the model can be in line with the evolving process of a velocity trajectory of STS at any Chair of Height (COH). This solution has the features of convenient, high precision and short time to reconstruct model.
