Inheritance of Chinese Traditional Color Culture Based on Modern Human Visual Perception

With the development of the era and social changes, Chinese traditional color culture(CTCC) has gradually lost in the ancient books. To inherit the CTCC, it is necessary to satisfy the demands of the epoch and the aesthetic satisfaction of modern people. In this study, we propose a new approach that could inherit and develop CTCC. Through literature review, the historical background of the CTCC is defined and the necessity of research is interpretation, the connotation of the CTCC is elaborated, and the artwork form of Chinese traditional color is clarified. Based on the visual perception experiment, we obtained the modern Chinese visual perception, behavior data of the Chinese traditional color scheme (CTCS) as an input baseline to seek a general visual perception rule which could suitable for the aesthetics of modern people. This study proposes a systematic process of CTCS to seek an approach to inherit and develop CTCC.
