Improving Performance of TCP variants in Long Term Evolution (LTE)

In recent years, Long Term Evolution (LTE) networks are quickly deployed everywhere in the world to resolve the congestion problem in 3G networks. Transmission Control Protocol (TCP) provides reliable delivery of data stream at the transport layer. Several TCP variants have been proposed. They can be used to enhance quality of service (QoS). In this paper, an enhanced approach is proposed to improve the performance congestion control in LTE network. The proposed approach depends on controlling the receive buffer size in eNode B. This will be performed through dividing the memory size of eNode B between active users. Simulation results show the effectiveness of the proposed approach that leads to enhance performance in terms of network throughput and low time delay.
