Taiwan's EMC requirements for telecommunication devices

For unintentional radiators, Taiwan has enforced EMC requirements since 1997. The regulatory agencies are the Bureau of Standards, Metrology and Inspection (BSMI, formally BCIQ) and The Directorate General of Telecommunications (DGT). BSMI is in charge of nontelecommunication devices, while the DGT is in charge of telecommunication devices. Intentional radiators have been regulated since 1989. All intentional radiators, including wireless devices, are regulated by the DGT. The EMC management system can seem to be complicated. This paper provides the readers with a communication channel to understand and follow the regulations and to also speed up the process of exporting telecommunication products into Taiwan.
