ESCOM's approach to the design of substations

With a predicted growth rate of 9,2 per cent per annum over the next decade ESCOM will need to design and construct very many substations in order to meet the load distribution requirements. This vast expansion programme coupled with a general shortage of skilled staff has prompted the development of new design techniques to cope with the anticipated workload.
