Model based approach in intelligent patient monitoring

Automatic monitoring of the physiological and pathophysiological state of the patient requires the integration of the various available information. This interdisciplinary task involves processing and analysis of both symbolic and numeric data. The authors investigate the structure of an intelligent patient monitoring system, i.e. one that changes the monitoring strategy automatically in response to changes in the patient's state.<>
