Method for Managing Transport SDN Resources

Software-defined communication networks, which are actively developing at the moment, have several significant directions of development: classic SDNs, software-defined global networks (SD-WAN), transport SDNs (T-SDN), etc. It is in transport SDNs the problem of direct management of the resources of the monitored network is urgent, since networks of this level operate on the basis of a service availability model and must have a high level of reliability, including in the event of unforeseen failures of the communication network. The paper presents a method that contains a set of calculation procedures associated with the alternate management of various types of resources of the transport software-defined network, connected by a single objective function. The main stages of the developed algorithm are the distribution of available IP-level resources between incoming packet flows with subsequent calculation and formation of the necessary network topology, distribution of physical (optical) resources. The key parameter in the work is the total energy consumption required to install a new light path, depending on the intensity of the network packets received for servicing.
