The lighting of freeways and expressways

In presenting this paper on the design of lighting installations for freeways and expressways, consideration has been given to the many papers previously written outlining the fundamental principles of street lighting, and it is now consequently proposed only to summarise briefly these principles and rather to study at length the special requirements for the illumination of high-speed arterial roads.
