Performance Analysis of Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motor under DTC and Space Vector-based DTC schemes with MTPA control

For high performance applications with suitable control techniques, permanent magnet synchronous motor (PMSM) have outperformed DC motors and conventional AC motors because of their modest structure and adeptness. This paper encompasses an extensive performance analysis of PMSM under direct torque control (DTC) and space vector modulation based DTC (SVM DTC), both employing maximum torque per ampere (MTPA) criteria which ensures minimum stator ohmic losses. Critical analysis is executed under different operating conditions and different performance parameters of PMSM such as torque ripple, steady state performance, stator current ripple, stator current THD etc. are compared and simulation is done on MATLAB Simulink platform.
