The ascension island satellite communication station

This paper describes, in terms which will be of interest to all electrical engineers, Britain's first overseas civil satellite communication station and its installation on Ascension Island. Although the station is intended specifically for the Apollo project it will also be of much wider interest to members as a forerunner of a new era of stations which will, In due course, provide global communication of vastly greater capacity than is offered by present methods.
