Chapter 6 Investigating Employment Discrimination and Social Exclusion: Case of Serbia

This article considers the issues of employment discrimination and social inclusion and their relevance for the well-being of individuals and groups in Serbia. The article analyses the situation of particular groups in society—women, people over 55 years old, Roma people, and persons with disabilities. In some cases, comparisons are made with Slovenia in order to explain the prevalence of discriminatory experiences and their relevance for the study of social policy against discrimination. Research has shown that integrated approaches and strategies on all levels of society are needed to improve the social inclusion of marginalized groups. At the first place, the involvement of marginalized groups in education programs should be seen as an essential element of solving problems in this sector.
