The training of army wireless mechanics

This paper touches on one aspect of modern soldiering — the maintenance of wireless communications equipment. In presenting it to the South African Institute of Electrical Engineers, the author hopes to give that body and its members, some idea of the Army Wireless Mechanic's training, the standards he attains and the experience he gains. It is felt that such knowledge should be of use to those concerned in South Africa's plans for reconstruction not only when they are dealing with the absorption of soldiers into civilian employment, but also when they are concerned in improving the existing civilian methods of training engineers, mechanics and apprentices for the rapidly expanding radio industry.
