The application of pilot wire protection to long 88-kv transmission lines

The paper describes the pilot wire protection as applied to the relatively long 88-kV transmission lines of the Victoria Falls and Transvaal Power Company's system, gives the reasons for its adoption, and outlines the difficulties which had to be overcome to make the protection function satisfactorily.
