Analysis of Partial Koch Fractal Antenna Using Characteristic Mode Theory

Fractal shaped antennas are getting popular due to their multiband behavior and stable radiations. In this paper research on the study of partial fractal structure using characteristic mode analysis (CMA) is presented. Characteristic mode analysis of Partial Koch Fractal antenna is carried out to identify multiple radiating modes that are inherent to the structure. CMA provided complete radiating properties and surface currents of all modes in the frequency range of 2GHz-7GHz. Five radiating modes are identified in this range of frequencies with two pairs of degenerate modes having stable radiation patterns. According to the symmetries of surface currents there are two vertical and two horizontal modes.
