“Neutral earthing and earth leakage protection“

Johnson (Associate Member): Mr. President and gentlemen, in contributing to the discussion on Mr. Badham's most interesting paper, I should like to consider the question of earth leakage protection from the point of view of the engineer who is called upon to install this form of protection on a mine distribution system, which we will assume has been running on an unearthed neutral system for the past 20 or 30 years, a condition which is frequently met with on the Reef.
