The Education and Training of Engineers for Industry

The subject of my address to-night is “The Education and Training of Engineers for Industry,” and I wish to describe the manner in which this is carried out in England. The training of engineers is of growing importance all over the world-the repair of the ravages of war in many countries and the restoration of the means of improving and bringing back to something like pre-war conditions, the prosperity of those countries will fall largely on the shoulders of engineers. In this work the supply of power will be an essential factor whether this is to be provided from such primary sources of energy as coal, oil,“ flowing water, or ultimately from a subatomic source, hence, again the importance of engineering.
