An Overview of CIP Education in EFL Classes Based on Statistical Analysis

The authors did an overview on some academic papers published in CNKI digital data bank of China from 2017 to 2021(before 1st, March) in order to gain a general view of current Curriculum of Ideology and Politics (CIP) education in the teaching English as a foreign language (EFL) classes at university level. The authors use SPSS and SAS software to collect and analyze the data. An analysis of the data reveals a sharp increase in published academic papers related to CIP study and education in EFL classes. Some issues including necessity of CIP education, teaching design and strategies of CIP education, teaching practice of CIP education, and teacher competences in CIP education are discussed in these published academic papers. The authors also put forward some recommendations for language teachers, especially wishing to embrace CIP education to improve their research and teaching in value-guiding cultivation of talents in colleges and universities.
