Aluminum Can Color Sorter of Programmable Logic Control

This article presents the design and construction of the aluminum can color sorter using a Programmable Logic Control (PLC). The device has a function that can sort the colors of 3 colors, red, green and blue, respectively. It uses a motor to control the conveyor and has a detection device for aluminum cans color sorter. The results of each aluminum can are counted and can be displayed through an HDMI monitor. The color separation test results are calculated as a percentage error to verify color accuracy. The red test results were 1.8%, green were 1%, and blue were 1.2%. The average time of red test subjects was 2.49 s, green 4.01 s and blue 5.55 s, respectively.
