Analysis of student motivation in the use of a Physics Augmented Remote Lab during the Covid-19 pandemic

In the current context, amid of the Covid-19 pandemic, technology has become the main means of connecting schools, teachers and students in the educational process. However, not all the tools used are considered clear enough to demonstrate those practical contents, in the same way that they occurred in the pre-pandemic period, which can cause the demotivation of some students. The objective of this investigation is to present the development of an Augmented Remote Lab (ARL) and to verify if such resources are able to motivate students in the acquisition of knowledge of Physics during the period of social isolation imposed by the pandemic of Covid-19. In this regard an ARL was developed and used by students of the technical course in Electromechanics of a Brazilian educational institution for the teaching of basic concepts of electricity, in the discipline of Electronics. From this research, it was possible to identify the motivational levels of students regarding attention, relevance, satisfaction and confidence. The results showed a positive trend in the items of attention, relevance and satisfaction, showing that the ARL has the potential to promote interesting levels of motivation. However, the results regarding confidence remained in a neutral to negative trend, demonstrating that although they are satisfied with learning from ARL, it would not be sufficient to obtain satisfactory results in tests on the topic.
