Wireless Implantable Phototherapy Device for Oral Inflammation Repair

LED light source is widely used in stomatology treatment and cosmetology. However, since the large size and insufficient intensity of the wireless light source, it is difficult to implant the phototherapy device into the mouth for long-term treatment. This paper proposed to fabricate a wireless implantable micro phototherapy device for oral inflammation repair. AlGaAs light-emitting diodes were fabricated according to the wavelength and optical power density of inflammatory tissue repair. The LED chip is used as the treatment light source, whose chip and LED are organically integrated to ensure the miniaturization of the device and to increase the overall illumination area and optical power density as much as possible. Based on the magnetic resonance coupled wireless power supply mode, a near-field wireless power supply system is designed to maintain the normal operation of the implanted device with coupling parameters such as coupling mode, harmonic mode. Vibration frequency, coupling coefficient, coil design details such as quality factor, etc. were optimized to ensure sufficient energy supply to the device. In this paper, the optical, electrical and temperature performance of the whole system is characterized. Specific in vivo long-term clinical trials will be conducted later on the basis of these studies.
