Energy Aware Mobile Cloud Computing using Femtocells Technology

Although the recent advances in mobile devices, they are still considered restricted computing devices regarding their battery lifetime, storage, and processor's performance. In contrast, mobile users need additional demands to perform computationally intensive applications on their smartphone devices. Accordingly, mobile cloud computing is considered a feasible and optimal solution. In this paper, an efficient energy-aware framework for mobile cloud computing using femtocells technology is proposed. The proposed framework is not only improving the indoor coverage area but also reducing energy consumption. Experimental results on the real-world and intensive applications vindicate the capability of the proposed framework in improving the applications' performance and reducing the overall energy consumption.
