Review article: Optimization of a V2V communication in cognitive radio context

According to the report of world health organization (WHO),approximately 1.35 million people die each year as a result of road traffic crashes. To increase safety in smart cities especially in vehicles, a new technology was appeared called internet of vehicles (IOV) which can be established on three forms of communication: V2V Vehicle to Vehicle, V2I Vehicle to Infrastructure and V2X Vehicle to Anything. The existing V2Vs are based on single radio and are inefficient and unreliable especially in the hilly areas due to low SNR and partial coverage. now they are based on a new technique of communication called Cognitive Radio (CR) which add a smart layer to the medium access. With growing interest in using cognitive radio (CR) technology in wireless communication systems for vehicles, it is envisioned that future vehicles will be CR-enabled.This article presents the fundamental knowledge about the cognitive radio, we will present different cognitive radio network paradigms.
