Dynamic Modelling of a Sensorless Singly Fed Induction Machine with Rotor Flux Oriented Control

This investigation forms the preliminary work leading to the study of a Sensorless Singly Fed Induction Machine (SFIM). The paper presents an investigation made on the Singly Fed Induction Machine and its behaviour under dynamic and steady-state conditions. A vector controlled PWM converter is connected to the stator side of the machine. To produce flux and torque, the stator current is controlled using a rotor-flux-oriented reference frame. Matlab/Simulink was used for the simulation of the vector control system of an induction machine. The simulation results show that the flux and torque can be regulated independently to match the reference signals. Moreover, a comparison of simulation and calculation results in a steady-state condition shows a good agreement.
