Empirical Research on the Factors Influencing Commercial Banks' Profitability : —Based on Panel Data of 16 Listed Banks from 2008 to 2017

This paper selects the data of 16 listed Banks in China from 2008 to 2017 for empirical study, aiming to analyze the factors affecting the profitability of commercial Banks in China. This paper takes the return on assets as the explained variable, the non-performing loan ratio, cost-to-income ratio, net income ratio of intermediate business, and net interest margin as internal indicators, and M2 growth rate as external indicators. Then, it explores the relationship between explanatory variables, various indicators and the bank's return on assets. Eviews 9.0 was used for unit root test, co-integration analysis and regression processing of panel data. Based on the empirical research results, this paper provides countermeasures and suggestions for commercial Banks to improve operating efficiency and reduce operating costs, so as to improve the profitability of domestic commercial Banks.
