Abstract:

This study is concerned with the two-phase flow in a microchannel. The liquids are Newtonian (de-ionized water and sunflower oil) and a Y-shaped microchannel is used. For this microfluidic device, numerical and experimental studies were conducted. The focus of this study is on the evolution of the interface and what happens at it, in terms of stresses, forces and other parameters. By validating the numerical simulations with experiments, it will allow us to go further to the diffusion process and non-Newtonian fluids.
