Design of Patch Antenna for 5G Communication at 6 GHz (WRC-23) With WLAN Application

For the improvement of quality of service for 5G communication most recent band has been added under WRC-23, 6 GHz is one of the spectrum. We proposed a microstrip patch antenna having size of 26×24×1.6mm

and the substrate is FR4 ( εr=4.4). Basically for the enhancement of data rate more spectrums have been introduced for multiple applications by using 5G technology. Our proposed antenna fulfills the requirement of one frequency band whose operating frequency is 6 GHz. The reflection coefficient |S

| is -21.16 dB with peak gain is 3dB. Another band at 5 GHz is also received as a WLAN application. The reflection coefficient |S

| is -35.47 dB with peak gain of 2.86 dB. The bandwidth received at 6 GHz is 500 MHz and at 5 GHz is 400 MHz. Our proposed antenna has been designed and simulated on HFSS software. This antenna is a very good candidate for 5G applications along with WLAN operations.
