Low Delay and Low Overhead Terahertz Wireless Personal Area Networks Directional MAC Protocols

In the existing Terahertz Wireless Personal Area Network MAC Protocols, the beam-forming process in the CAP period takes a long time and the frame control of beam-forming training is huge in the CAP period, and there is redundancy in the node slot allocation information in the Beacon period. To solve the above problems, a low delay and low overhead terahertz wireless personal area networks directional MAC protocols is proposed. Through the Adaptive half-beamforming mechanism and reduce the beacon frame on-demand mechanism, the sending of beam training frame and the length of node slot resource allocation information in beacon frame are effectively reduced, the average delay is reduced, and the network performance is improved. Finally, OPNET simulation software is used for verification. Comparing with IEEE802.15.3 protocol and ACAP-MAC protocol. LDLO-MAC protocol has improved performance in MAC layer throughput, data frame average delay and beam formation training overhead.
