Research on Railway Obstacle Detection Method Based on Radar

In view of the shortcomings of machine vision detection, such as lack of real-time, short sight distance and poor environmental adaptability, a railway foreign object detection method based on microwave radar is proposed. The error correction function of radar is obtained by off-line error correction. According to the railway safety clearance standard, radar measurement parameters and radar lateral measurement error, the clearance area under radar coordinate system is constructed, and the objects in the area are identified, and the moving targets within the radar detection range are filtered and tracked. Finally, the machine vision and radar field test are compared, the results show that the radar detection performance is good, the real-time performance is high, the comprehensive detection rate is about 90%, and it is more suitable for complex railway operation environment.
