Application of Modular Design Method in Product Design

The purposes of this paper is to introduce modular design methods into product design, improve the reliability and stability of product functions and structures, transform product appearance, and promote product design development. Through studying the relevant literature about modular design, the theory of modular design is analyzed and summarized, the application methods and principles of modular design in product design are studied and the relevant practices are carried out. Modular design can promote product innovation and design transformation, reduce product processing costs, shorten production cycles, as well as extend product life. Taking the improvement of kitchen products as a case (cabinet, kitchen sink, etc.), using modular design methods to improve the structure, function, material, shape, etc. of existing products, achieve the expected results, and verify that modular design is one of these innovative product design methods and is feasible in product design.
