Polarization Insensitive Multiband Metamaterial Absorber for ISI reduction in X and Ku Band

This article presents an efficient design of quad-band polarization insensitive metamaterial absorber. The proposed structure has been designed on FR-4 substrate, whose dielectric constant is 4.4 and loss tangent (tan δ) is 0.02 using Computer Simulation Tools (CST). The dimensions of the proposed absorber are 20x20 mm². Ellipsoid and circular copper strips have been used for the patch design. The optimized result has been obtained at a substrate height of 3.8mm. Our absorber has an absorbance of 99.45%, 96.56%, 97.85% and 99.49% at frequencies 8.00, 9.88, 11.84 and 15.45 GHz respectively. The proposed absorber is perfect for the application in the field of ISI reduction, Isolation improvement in MIMO antenna and Aeronautical Radio Navigation.
